Wonderful Bapsang: Hidden Restaurant Behind Minimart!

During my semester break, I’ve come to binge-watch numerous Kdramas that got me craving for Korean food. It was by chance of entering a nondescript Korean minimart at Suntec City where I discovered the restaurant, Wonderful Bapsang, hidden at the back!

Wonderful Bapsang serves authentic Korean food at student-friendly prices and its space definitely screams youthfulness.

Space & Ambience

If you’ve ever watched the K-drama Itaewon Class, you might think you’ve stepped into the set of the main character, Sae-ro-yi’s restaurant.

The black ceiling and neon decor makes for a nightlife vibe, with each table fully equipped with a stove and utensils.

Food

The Army Stew ($36) consists of hotdogs, luncheon meat, bean sprouts, ramyeon, enoki mushrooms, beans, fishcakes, cheese, spring onions, dumplings and kimchi. It’s a hearty meal that could easily feed 2-3 pax. The broth isn’t watery and with the amount of ingredients stuffed inside, I would highly recommend it for it’s price.

The Dak Gangjeong (Boneless sweet & spicy chicken) ($25.05) also consists of fried sweet potato sticks and tteokboki. The chicken is so crunchy and succulent which is perfectly balanced with the side of white radish. I was surprised at the addition of potato sticks which is always a plus. The portion is quite big, so I would recommend sharing amongst 2 – 3 pax OR if you’re really hungry you can order it as is for yourself.

Overall, I would give Wonderful Bapsang the following rating:

Food: 4/5

Space & Ambience: 4/5

Service: 4/5
