Wildfire Chicken & Burgers: Getting Lit with Seasonal Forest Mushroom Cheeseburger

Trying to find a good, affordable burger joint that’s NOT a fast-food chain is not an easy task. 

That is until an Instagram video about Wildfire Chicken & Burger’s Wildfire Forest Mushroom Cheeseburger got me drooling. This latest seasonal burger item is only available from now till end of April 2021, so my family and I made our way down to try it out before it’s gone.

Space and Ambience

Located on NAFA campus, Wildfire Chicken & Burger’s exterior is chic with its sleek black barstools and warm wooden tables, giving off a youthful vibe fitting for the student demographic in the area.


Behold the main attraction: the Forest Mushroom Cheeseburger ($18), which consists of a Black Angus beef patty, six different types of mushrooms, Tête de Moine cheese and a Brioche bun.

We were greeted with a round wheel of Tête de Moine that’s being personally hand-shaven by the waiter in front of you. 

The fun doesn’t just stop there. True to its name, a fire show ensues with the waiter using blowtorching the top of the freshly shaven Tête de Moine to burnt perfection.

Theatrics aside, the burger is packed with unique mushrooms such as Morel, Porcini, Chanterelle, Champignons de Paris, Cremini and King Oyster mushrooms.

The mushrooms melt in your mouth, and the torched Tête de Moine’s slightly nutty taste makes for a blooming combination. The buns are well-buttered and soft, although it doesn’t do much to keep the mushrooms and patty from falling out when eating. However, the patty is quite hard and average in taste.

We also ordered one of Wildfire’s regular items, The Eggstarter ($8).

The butter folded eggs are thick and creamy, with the chopped chives adding some flavour to the otherwise subtle egg taste. The caramelised onion adds saltiness and a kick to the eggs alongside the slight heat from the Chipotle Mayo. If you find the egg alone is still too plain for your liking, you can add crispy bacon ($1.50) and spam ($1.50). 

The Truffled Parmesan Fries ($9) has generous shavings of truffle and parmesan. The fries are also crisp and starchy.

Overall, I would give Wildfire Chicken  & Burgers the following rating:

Space & Ambience: 3.5/5

Service: 3.5/5

Wildfire Chicken & Burgers serves up delicious meals that go easy on your wallets yet heartily fills your stomach. Be sure to try out the Forest Mushroom Cheeseburger before it’s gone end of April!
